About the Author

My name’s Kristina, I’m
22 years old, and I live in Burton, Michigan, with my wonderful husband,
Jason, and my two cats, Jazmine and Bear. I’m a recent graduate from the
University of Michigan-
Flint; I have a bachelor’s degree in English with a specialization in
writing. I currently work as a
substitute teacher at LakeVille Schools, and I’m also a freelance writer.
After the school year is done
(or when my teaching permit expires, whichever comes first), I’m looking
for something part-time to
supplement my income until I start getting some real income from writing.
I work with just about every kind of
writing imaginable, except for technical writing (which I would
like to learn how to do). My passion lies with creative writing, especially
poetry. I’m currently working
on a few different projects, including “The Cafeteria Club” series,
and perhaps my first book of
poetry. My research interests for nonfiction lie in urban community issues,
particularly those dealing
with Flint, Michigan.
Besides writing, I also play the French horn and trumpet (though I’m
currently not a member of any
bands), and I enjoy spending time with my husband and my friends, reading
books, playing video
games (especially Final Fantasy and SimCity) and shopping. I’ve been told
I have a knack for
photography as well—you can check out some of the pictures I’ve
taken here.
If you’d like to talk to me
online and have AOL or AOL Instant Messenger, my screen
name is KayPurdue. Otherwise, you can send
me an e-mail or sign
the
guestbook.
